◆강연| 바이오메디컬 인공지능
◆연사| 신현정_아주대 산업공학과 교수
본 강의에서는 인공지능이 바이오메디컬 분야에 어떻게 적용되는지 단계별로 살펴본다. 먼저 질병의 원인이 되는 유전자를 기계학습을 통하여 어떻게 찾아내는지를 알아보고, 이후 이를 치료하기 위한 약물 개발에는 인공지능이 어떻게 도움을 주는지를 살펴본다. 마지막으로는 개발된 인공지능 알고리즘들이 진단, 예후예측, 처방 등에 어떻게 활용되는지 알아보고, 앞으로의 인공지능 기반 정밀의료의 발전 방향을 조망해본다.

기아, 사외이사에 ‘모빌리티 전문가’ 신현정 카이스트 교수 선임

기아는 29일 서울 서초구 양재 본사 대강당에서 제78기 정기 주주총회를 열고 6개 안건을 모두 원안대로 의결했다.
주총 현장에는 의장인 송호성 기아 사장을 비롯해 100명 가량의 주주가 참석했다.
기아는 이날 주총을 통해 송호성 사장과 정의선 현대자동차그룹 회장 등 2명을 사내이사로 재선임했다. 임기가 지난 15일 종료됐기 때문이다.
이와 함께 사외이사로 신현정 한국과학기술원(카이스트) 기계공학과 교수를 신규 선임했다. 신현정 신임 사외이사는 지난 2005년 카이스트 교수로 부임한 뒤 기계공학 분야에서 전문성을 키워왔다. 한국여성공학기술인협회 이사를 지냈고 현재 한국여성과학기술인지원센터 비상임이사, 엔젠 사외이사, 국가과학기술자문회의 자문위원 등으로 활동하고 있다. 그간 대한기계학회 가산학술상(2018년), 대한의용생체공학회우수논문상(2015년), 카이스트 공대 기술혁신 우수상(2020년) 등을 수상한 기계공학 전문가로 꼽힌다.
기아는 주총 소집공고에서 “신현정 사외이사를 신규 선임할 경우 이사회 내 유일한 미래기술 전문가”라며 “기아 이사회의 전문성과 다양성을 높이는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단하고 있다”라고 밝혔다.
신현정 사외이사는 후보자일 당시 직무수행계획의 일환으로 “유체공학을 활용한 전기차 전장부품, 배터리, 실내공조 열관리 부품 모듈화 및 생체공학 분야를 활용한 로봇 사업에 대한 연구 성과를 바탕으로 기아의 신사업 관련 분야에 대한 조언을 아끼지 않겠다”라고 밝혔다.
기아는 이밖에 이날 주총에서 지난 회계연도 재무제표를 승인했고 기존 사외이사인 김동원 고려대 경영학과 교수를 감사위원회 위원으로 선임했다. 또 100억원의 이사 보수한도와 지난해 보통주 1주당 3,000원 규모의 현금 기말배당을 결정했다.
기아는 올해 러시아 경제제재를 반영하지 않을 경우 전세계 자동차 수요가 전년 대비 5.5% 증가한 8,300만대에 이를 것으로 전망했다. 이와 함께 친환경 정책이 시장별로 강화하고 전기차(EV) 인프라가 확대되는 동시에 유가가 상승하는 등 요인으로 전기차 시장의 성장세가지속될 것으로 내다봤다.
기아는 이에 따라 미래 사업으로 전환하는 동시에 고객중심 경영, 기본 내실 강화 등을 3대 전략 추진 방향으로 설정했다. 이에 맞춰 브랜드 가치를 높이고 미래 전략을 구체적으로 실행하는 등 방식으로 대응해나갈 방침이다.

송호성 사장은 이날 주총 현장에서 “올해 글로벌 경영환경으로 코로나19 위기가 진정 국면에 진입하고 하반기 중 차량용 반도체 수급 차질이 점진적으로 해소될 것으로 보인다”며 “반면 러시아의 우크라이나 침공에 대응한 미국 등의 경제제재가 실시되고 각국의 경기 회복세가 둔화하는 등 리스크도 공존한다”고 분석했다.
송호성 사장은 “이 같은 업황에 대응해 전기차,목적기반모빌리티(PBV), 커넥티비티, 소프트웨어 기반 서비스 수익 모델 등 분야의 사업을 지속 추진할 것”이라며 “또 고객과 브랜드에 기반한 조직문화를 구축하고 글로벌 브랜드 포지셔닝을 공고히 하는 한편 지속가능경영 체계를 구축할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
